In my design for the Laguna Beach Sawdust Festival I utilized local art to create a figurehead for the campaign poster. I thought that by using local art potential attendees would have an idea of the art that had been featured in the past and hopefully be attracted to attend. I used colors from art on the website to created a layered background. These colors are vibrant and would catch people’s attention on a t-shirt or in an advertisement. The text I created was bold and reflects the unique image featured on the poster. The colors on the background of the text illuminate the title for extra contrast in the image. I think this image is appealing to potential attendees while also being versatile so that it may be used in ads, t-shirts, and posters.
